The United War Veterans Council’s 2014 Valentine’s Caravan has been the most successful to date, with extensive participation throughout New York City’s five boroughs. In Manhattan, we collected and sorted through thousands of cards, gifts and contributions sent to our project headquarters next to the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, and were warmly received by newly-elected Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.

The United War Veterans Council’s headquarters, just down the hall from the NYC Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, was the focal point of activity for the 2014 Valentine’s Day initiative. Our team members and volunteers processed thousands of cards, gifts and contributions. NYC Veterans Affairs Commissioner Terrance Holiday said, “Happy Valentine’s Day – an arrow through my heart from all the veterans. I’m proud to participate and thank UWVC for facilitating this meaningful event!”
