Veterans Week NYC!

The United War Veterans Council, organizers of America’s Parade (Veterans Day, New York City), coordinates a number of events and activities in support of Veterans Week — NYC’s annual celebration of our veterans.

City Hall Flag Ceremony | 10am
City Hall (Manhattan)
A ceremony hosted by the City of New York honoring all the military services and announcing that Veterans Day is one week away.

SATURDAY, NOV 5

Eternal Light Monument & Flag Staff Cleaning | 10am
Madison Square Park, 24th Street and Fifth Ave
Scouts and firefighters prepare the 1923 monument to WWI veterans for the opening ceremony of the Veterans Day Parade.

SUNDAY, NOV 6

Veterans Mass | 10am
St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 50th Street and Fifth Ave (Manhattan)
A traditional Mass for all our veterans and their families.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

New York Giants v. Philadelphia Eagles | 1 p.m
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.  
Special pre-game and half-time ceremonies honor military service.

MONDAY, NOV 7

Veterans Art Auction | 5:30 ~ 9pm
Presented by AdVets and the United War Veterans Council
Wyndham New Yorker Hotel, 481 8th Ave. at 34th Street (Manhattan)
Featuring work by veterans.  Auction proceeds benefit veterans.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

 

WEDNESDAY, NOV 9

Tribute to Those Who Served Our Nation and Our City | 3pm
National 9/11 Memorial & Museum, 180 Greenwich St.(Manhattan)  
A tribute to 9/11 to First Responders who also served in the military.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

 

THURSDAY, NOV 10

Marine Corps Birthday Celebration
Union League Club, 38 E. 37th Street. (Manhattan)
A formal celebration of the 241
st Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.

America’s Parade, the New York City Veterans Day Parade
Opening Ceremony: 10 ~ 11 am  –  Madison Square Park, 23rd Street and Fifth Ave.
Parade: 11:15am ~ 3:30pm (approx) – Proceeds up Fifth Ave. to 52nd Street.
Broadcast: 12 ~ 3pm – PIX11 (WPIX) and AFN; Live-streaming on military.com.
