BENEFITING UWVC’S VETERAN HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAM
In August 1942, United States Marines invaded Guadalcanal and raided Makin Island in the first offensive actions by U.S. ground forces during World War II. In the spirit of these historic amphibious efforts, three UWVC Marine veterans will ruck and swim to raise funds for UWVC’s Health & Wellness Program! Our weekly program assists at-risk veterans who are battling a multitude of issues including PTSD, TBI, substance abuse, homelessness and legal complications.
6.5 mile ruck march
Around the Hartshorne Woods peninsula of the Atlantic Highlands in NJ
2.3 mile swim
In the Navesink River
The Ruck & Swim will include visits to the 9/11 memorial at Mt Mitchill and the USS New Jersey Gun emplacement.
