Volunteer for Fleet Week 2019!

Join the UWVC in helping staff partner volunteer roles for NYC’s Fleet Week 2019.

Your role is crucial for the success of such a large scale event. Take a look at our descriptions below for the best volunteer location and date for your schedule!

Guidelines and Expectations:

  • Each volunteer will receive a shirt and stipend for lunch for their volunteer efforts.
  • 4 hour shifts are requested.
  • Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Students are welcome to volunteer with a chaperone.

Volunteer roles may or may not include the following tasks:

  • Greeting guests upon arrival, taking photos, passing out pamphlets, passing out packets of poppy seeds. Some memorization may be required, and will be provided prior to your assignment.
  • There will be a lot of walking, talking, sometimes standing in one place. Volunteers should be courteous, helpful and engaging with the public.
  • Fleet Week is often a warm time of the year. Depending on your personal preferences, you may want to consider bringing water or a water bottle to stay hydrated, a sweater in the event you will be cold, a snack to stay energized and sunscreen for time in the sun.
