Unlike the traditional linear economy of "make, use, dispose," our recycling program embraces the circular economy—encouraging the reuse of items for as long as possible.
Through our innovative program, we:
- Generate revenues to fund our veterans' programs.
- Provide donors with a tax-deductible way to support our veterans.
- Offer unparalleled convenience with free pickups.
- Promote the reuse of clothing and household goods.
- Reduce landfill waste and save taxpayers money.
- Help communities meet their sustainability goals.
Tax Information
Your donation of clothing and household items is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed under law.
Receipt:
Our driver will leave a tax receipt at the time the donations are picked up. If you do not receive a receipt, you can download one here UWVC Tax Receipt or log in to our pickup scheduler site. You can also call 1.888.881.8982.
Value of Items:
It is the donor's responsibility to determine the value of donated items. UWVC is a non-profit organization [#13-3793337] with tax-exempt status granted under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code.
IRS Form:
The IRS Form 8283 is used to document Non-Cash Charitable Contributions valued at $500 or more. You can find the form here: IRS Form 8283.
