DOUGLAS MCGOWAN

Douglas McGowan (Board Chair Emeritus) served in the US Government as a Marine Officer, a Government Civilian and Government Contractor.  During his time in service between 2000 and 2011, Doug served in numerous operational, analytical and liaison positions and deployed multiple times in support of Afghanistan and Iraq operations, as well as more broadly in support of the Global War On Terrorism and other efforts.

After leaving the US Government, Doug has spent his post-service years working in Market/Business Development and Sales, Risk & Control, Strategy and Portfolio Program Project Management positions in the Energy and Financial Services industries.

Doug currently serves on a number of veteran focused non-profit Boards of Directors and Committees as well as on a Community Board.

Doug holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.

Doug lives with his wife, Paula, who is the founder of a minority and woman owned digital marketing and social media agency, and their two children, in New York City.

He is the middle son of a Marine veteran father, Vince, whose Vietnam service was captured in the Commandant’s Professional Reading List / Category: Counterinsurgency book, “The Village,” and a career Flight Attendant mother, Brenda.

His brothers, Matt and Zach, are successful business owner and public figure husbands and fathers, who are married to successful business entrepreneur wives and mothers, Lisa and Emily.
